Forwarding Business Controller Staff/Specialist (m/w/d)

Your mission
Supporting management in the area of forwarding with reports and evaluations (e.g. customers, traffics, modes, markets). 
Supporting sales forces with sales leads and qualified customer information. KPI recording and evaluation for local sales. Main contact for SalesForce matters as CRM SuperUser.

  • Business development controlling with a focus on activities, opportunities and customer analyses, creating monthly reports within the Forwarding Department
  • Budget and forecast monitoring and generation, additional visual processing and presentation generation
  • Analysis & creation of KPI reports: financial and operative KPI control, monthly, quarterly and yearly determination of results
  • Supporting the Department Manager Forwarding Sales Europe in analyzing and creating CRM reports, KPI reports as well as annual planning and forecasts
  • Maintain and manage Forwarding sales reports and business plans
  • Administer all business units within Freight Forwarding and analyze financial risks, recommend effective solutions
  • Creation of business cases to support management
  •  Analysis of freight forwarding sales processes, development and monitoring of improvement measures
  • Planning and optimization of controlling freight forwarding sales processes in the company (margin analysis, KPI management, cost control, restructuring, automation, digitization)
  • Responsible for product requirement analysis, technical solutions and implementation strategy
  • Participate in "sales journeys" to develop innovative programs for new and existing customers
  •  Collaboration and development of new products within the Freight Forwarding units (AFR, OFR, W+D, sales, IT, etc.)
  • CRM: Central contact for Salesforce, Super User, Support function
  • CRM: Training and mentoring of stakeholders and business colleagues
  • CRM: Work with business stakeholders to update, extend and migrate their current processes to Salesforce
  • CRM: Dynamic development of AI-supported CRM technology for digital customer care (research, smarter lead generation) is one of the strategic tasks
  • GPMS: Interface to Freight Forwarding Procurement, support for colleagues in local sales
  • Collaboration with all other areas of the company to ensure an effective and efficient IT landscape
  • Determine and verify systems and process all data.
  • Collaboration and development with other colleagues (sales and IT teams)
  • Communication with interface areas to ensure transparency
  •  Analysis of weak points in the forwarding processes (sales, operations) as well as the development and support of countermeasures
  • Supporting management in strategic decision-making based on performance evaluations, benchmarks and key figure
  • Consultant and source of ideas for all hierarchical levels in the company
  • Train and support stakeholders and business colleagues
Your profile
  • Completed degree in economics with a focus on controlling and/or logistics or commercial or shipping apprenticeship with appropriate further training to become a business economist or transport specialist with a focus on controlling
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an active EU forwarding market
  • Ability to identify and define needs and challenge
  • Very good networking, reporting skills
  • Very high affinity for numbers, data and facts
  • Logical and strategic thinking
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound professional experience in controlling, preferably in the logistics industry
  • Confident in presenting results and moderating meetings
  • Good market knowledge of the European markets
  • Good background in controlling
  • Product knowledge in Air, Sea, Road, Rail, W&D or SCS is an advantage
  • Comprehensive professional knowledge of MS Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and other MS Suite programs
  • Very good communication and coordination skills for working in a multicultural environment
  • Fluency in German and any other official language of EU is a must
