Battery Recycling Business Development Manager

Your mission
You will spearhead the establishment and operation of a cutting-edge facility focused on salvaging, recycling, and repurposing EV batteries and various automotive components. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our sustainability efforts and contributing to the circular economy by efficiently managing end-of-life EV batteries and other automotive parts. In addition, you should understand the junkyard process and procedure and have experience in the junkyard business in EU countries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning: Develop a comprehensive business plan outlining the junkyard's objectives, operational strategies, and financial projections. Identify market opportunities and potential partnerships to maximize profitability and sustainability.
  • Facility Setup: Oversee the design, construction, and equipping of the junkyard facility, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Resource Management: Manage human, financial, and material resources effectively to optimize junkyard operations. Hire, train, and supervise a skilled team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff.
  • Inventory Management: Implement robust systems for inventory tracking, cataloging, and storage of EV batteries and automotive parts. Develop processes for efficient dismantling, sorting, and recycling of components.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish rigorous quality control measures to ensure the integrity and performance of salvaged EV batteries and automotive parts. Implement testing protocols and standards to meet regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, waste management guidelines, and occupational health and safety protocols. Proactively address any issues related to environmental impact, hazardous materials, or workplace safety.
  • Market Development: Identify potential buyers and partners for salvaged EV batteries and automotive components, including manufacturers, recyclers, and aftermarket suppliers. Cultivate relationships and negotiate agreements to expand market reach and profitability.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay up to date on the advancements in EV battery technology, automotive recycling processes, and sustainable practices. Collaborate with R&D teams to explore innovative solutions for battery repurposing, material recovery, and waste reduction.

Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the automotive or recycling industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and strategic thinking capability.
  • Knowledge of EV battery technology, automotive systems, and recycling practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards related to waste management and recycling.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
