Your mission

As an Import Operations Junior Specialist, you will ensure the smooth handling of international ocean freight shipments while acting as a trusted point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage ocean freight import shipments (FCL & LCL) from origin to final delivery.
  • Process shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates.
  • Coordinate customs clearance activities in cooperation with customs brokers and authorities.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve transportation issues.
  • Communicate with shipping lines, agents, warehouses, and transport providers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate shipment data and documentation within transport management systems.
  • Provide customers with timely shipment updates and professional support.
  • Verify freight costs, review invoices, and support billing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customs, trade, and company regulations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and support the continuous development of operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and actively participate in team initiatives and meetings.
  • Support the expansion of customer relationships and agent networks through excellent service and operational reliability.

Your profile

  • Completed apprenticeship in Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services or a comparable qualification.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in freight forwarding operations, ideally within ocean freight imports.
  • Strong understanding of import processes, transportation logistics, and customer service.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify practical solutions and make sound decisions in dynamic situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
  • Reliable team player with a hands-on approach and willingness to take ownership.
  • Good knowledge of customs regulations and international trade processes is an advantage.
  • Experience with dangerous goods handling is considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with transport management or ERP systems is beneficial.
  • We are open to considering candidates at Assistant and Junior Specialist level. The final position level will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, relevant professional experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
